Build Quality:

This cue features a Birdseye Maple handle with a natural Walnut stain. The standout design element of this cue are the green Dymondwood clovers surrounded by Recon Ivory diamond inlays. The wrap is a black Irish Linen with green specs throughout. The green clover motif repeats itself at the other end of the wrap as well, completing the look of a wonderfully presented cue. The Birdseye Maple continues into the forearm as well.

The Dubliner’s joint is a 3/8 – 10 pin. The cue comes standard with a G-Core shaft which is a 13mm in diameter. The joint does take a bit longer to put together but that provides a good feel and the wood-to-wood joint helps even more.The installed tip is a Tiger Everest.

How It Actually Plays:

  • Hitting the ball with a slow hit, the ball hit the far rail at about 1.5″ mark. 
  • Hitting the ball with a medium hit, the ball hit the far rail at the 2″ mark.
  • Hitting the ball with a firm hit, the ball hit the far rail at about the 3″ mark.

Final Thoughts:

This is a truly beautiful example of a pool cue. The black Irish Linen with green specs is a nice bit of variety from the standard “salt and pepper” look often seen in wraps like this. This cue is Irish through-and-through, so if you’re looking for a way to show your Irish Pride, this cue is a perfect choice. As an added bonus, it plays phenomenally, as you would expect a McDermott cue to do.
