Playability
McDermott cues are exceptionally well made, and their G-Core shafts preform very well. If you’re getting serious about pool, this is a great big step in the right direction.
Try It
If you’ve never tried a McDermott cue, we’ve got you covered with the Select Billiards’ Hands-On Video Review and our own photos of the McDermott G407 from every angle. It’s almost like trying it out for yourself!
Build Quality:
This no-wrap cue has a beautiful Birdseye Maple butt plate with two cocobolo crown handle rings and twelve turquoise diamonds in the handle. It’s clear that a lot of love went into the creation of this pool cue. The forearm shows a beautiful curly maple wood with a brown stain for that rich feel.
The cue features a 3/8 10 joint with a G-Core shaft, which is 13mm in diameter. The tip is a Tiger Everest tip.
How It Actually Plays:
- G-Core Shaft (13 mm)
- Hitting the ball with a slow hit, the ball hit the far rail at about 1.5″ mark.
- Hitting the ball with a medium hit, the ball hit the far rail at the 2″ mark.
- Hitting the ball with a firm hit, the ball hit the far rail at about the 3″ mark.
Final Thoughts:
This is an eye catching and beautiful cue. I love that it has no-wrap which means it sticks to your hand very well. This cue combines beauty and playability into one perfect package.
