Construction
McDermott cues look beautiful and they play wonderfully. By incorporating North American Hard Rock maple, McDermott is able to produce some of the lowest deflection shafts available.

Build Quality:
This cue features real brass rings in the butt cap. The butt plate features a Birdseye Maple that’s been coated in a pure black Spies Hecker paint. The brand of paint used is an automotive-grade paint and the quality definitely shines through. The handle features a geniune Irish Linen wrap, black with white speck. You can see more of the high-gloss black paint on top of the Birdseye Maple.
The G206’s joint is a 3/8 – 10 pin. The cue comes standard with a G-Core shaft which is a 13mm in diameter. The joint does take a bit longer to put together but that provides a good feel and the wood-to-wood joint helps even more.The installed tip is a Tiger Everest.
How It Actually Plays:
- G-Core Shaft (13 mm)
- Hitting the ball with a slow hit, the ball hit the far rail at about 1.5″ mark.
- Hitting the ball with a medium hit, the ball hit the far rail at the 2″ mark.
- Hitting the ball with a firm hit, the ball hit the far rail at about the 3″ mark.
Final Thoughts:
This is a great cue. I love the pure black stylings and the Irish Linen wrap. This is a simple cue that remains classy. All in all, this is simply a great pool cue.
