Build Quality:

This cue features an acid-etched, metallic butt cap. The grip is an ostrich-pattern wrap. The cue is made from Curly Maple, and features inlaid Mother Of Pearl along with white and silver inlaid rings.

The cue incorporates a Venom Shaft with Poison’s Uni-Loc Bullet Joint system which makes it very easy to break down and put back together. The threads are recessed inside the joint and both the shaft and butt feature unique serial numbers. A Sarin tip is installed standard.

How It Actually Plays:

  • Venom 2 Shaft (13 mm)
    • With a soft hit, the ball hit the far rail at just over the 1 inch mark.
    • With a medium hit, the ball hit the far rail at the 1.75 inch mark.
    • With a firm hit, the ball hit the far rail right at the 2 inch mark.
When hitting with the Venom 2 shaft, you’ll notice that the cue gets out of the way of the cue ball well. It comes off smooth and definitely has low deflection. The Venom 2 shaft is a great shaft with a solid but soft feel to it.

Closing Thoughts:

The Poison Arsenic AR3-5 is a beautiful cue and that sticks very well to your hand while playing. The Mother of Pearl inlays make this cue extra special.
