J. Pechauer cues are the kind that get passed down from one generation of pool player to the next. The designs and inlays they are able to create are second-to-none. Put simply, these cues are art.
A rarity amongst modern cue manufactures, J. Pechauer cues are 100% made in the USA. From the shaft to the butt plate, these cues are all hand crafted in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
If you’ve never tried a Pechauer cue, we’ve got you covered with the Select Billiards Video Review and our photos of the Pechauer JP01-Q from every angle. It’s almost like trying it out for yourself!
This cue features simple checker-rings in it. The butt sleeve is a Birdseye Maple and comes in your choice of either Rosewood, Danish or Ebony stain. The handle is a black Irish Linen wrap with white specks. You’ll see the checker-rings up at the joint again as well. The joint itself is a clean and classic silver finish.
The joint is a quick release 5/16-14 style which makes putting the cue together a breeze. The tip is a Tiger-Emerald tip.
How It Actually Plays:
- Hitting the ball with a soft hit, the ball hit the far rail at right around the 1.5″ mark.
- Hitting the ball with medium hit, the ball hit the far rail at right around the 2″ mark.
- Hitting the ball with a firm hit, the ball hit the far rail right about the 2.5″ mark.
This is a beautifully simple cue that plays very well. It’s not loud or flashy at all but it plays so well that doesn’t even matter.
