McDermott cues are the result of over 35 years of pool cue making experience. These cues are made in America by craftsmen that take great pride in their work and it certainly shows.
McDermott cues look beautiful and they play wonderfully. By incorporating North American Hard Rock maple, McDermott is able to produce some of the lowest deflection shafts available.
If you’ve never had the chance to actually try a McDermott cue, check out the Select Billiards video review and photos of the G509. It’s like trying it out for yourself!
Select Billiards’ Video Review:
This cue features a rubber butt cap and a black butt sleeve with Bocote maple designs. The wrap is a lizard-embossed leather wrap. The forearm has more Maple and Bocote inlays with black urethane points.
The joint is a 3/8 – 10 pin with a stainless steel collar. The cue comes standard with a G-Core shaft. The installed tip is an Everest.
How It Actually Plays:
- G-Core Shaft (13 mm)
- Hitting the ball with a slow hit, the ball hit the far rail at about 1.5″ mark.
- Hitting the ball with a medium hit, the ball hit the far rail at the 2″ mark.
- Hitting the ball with a firm hit, the ball hit the far rail at about the 3″ mark.
The overall dark styling of this cue is nicely accented by the lighter colored inlays. The leather wrap feels very nice in your hand. This is a great choice for just about any player.
