McDermott cues are the result of over 35 years of pool cue making experience. These cues are made in America by craftsmen that take great pride in their work and it certainly shows.
McDermott cues look beautiful and they play wonderfully. By incorporating North American Hard Rock maple, McDermott is able to produce some of the lowest deflection shafts available.
If you’ve never had the chance to actually try a McDermott cue, check out the Select Billiards video review and photos of the G704 from every angle. It’s like trying it out for yourself!
Select Billiards’ Video Review:
This cue features a rubber butt cap and a Recon Ebony butt sleeve with Tulipwood and Brass inlays and rings. The wrap is a lizard-embossed Italian leather. The forearm has more of that Recon Ebony with Tulipwood and Brass ornamentation.
The joint is a McDermott quick release with a stainless steel collar. The cue comes standard with an i-2 shaft. The installed tip is an Everest.
How It Actually Plays:
- G-Core Shaft (13 mm)
- Hitting the ball with a slow hit, the ball hit the far rail at about 1.5″ mark.
- Hitting the ball with a medium hit, the ball hit the far rail at the 2″ mark.
- Hitting the ball with a firm hit, the ball hit the far rail at about the 3″ mark.
The inlays on this cue are quite striking. The Tulipwood and brass ornamentation create a great look together. I also like the lizard embossing on the leather wrap. This is a beautiful cue.
